Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would turn 98 years old tomorrow, January 15th. In 1964, Dr. King was the youngest individual to ever receive the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 35. Who knows what other feats he may have achieved if his life hadn’t been tragically ended that fateful day in April of 1968? His assassin may have thought he was ending a movement; a legacy. In reality, he only fueled the fire for Dr. King’s work to be continued by thousands of activists across the country and around the world.

This coming Monday, take a moment to remember the work and sacrifices of Dr. King. Even 49 years later, his unwavering commitment to equality has left a lasting mark that has forever changed the face of civil rights.
