Can you really find happiness at work? A little while ago, I realized something — I actually spend as much time at work (maybe more) as I do with my wife and children. And let me be clear — I really love my wife and kids. So, thinking about shaping our own happiness, I started by asking what makes me happy at work besides the happiness of others.

My Work or My Spouse: Who Sees the Real Me?

Diving into the daily grind, I’ve adopted a sort of Sherlock Holmes meets Silicon Valley approach to work. You know, treating each task like it’s a mystery that needs solving or a code that’s begging to be cracked. It’s not just about pushing papers or hitting KPIs; it’s about digging into the nitty-gritty, finding out what really makes those numbers tick. And let me tell you, it’s a process. First, I scope out the landscape — what’s the mission, who’s the villain (aka the challenge), and what’s my arsenal (the metrics and systems at play)? Then, it’s game on. I dive deep, not just skimming the surface but really getting to the heart of what impacts those precious data points. It’s a bit like being a detective and a gamer rolled into one. Each day presents a new level to beat or a puzzle to piece together, making the mundane feel more like a quest for glory. And honestly, if my friends knew half the epic…
